Construction as an industry is booming. There are lots of opportunities for people to get good jobs within the industry, whether it is as a scaffolder, a quantity surveyor, a labourer, an engineer, an environmental consultant or another function within construction. An apprenticeship is a good way to learn whilst working and earning some money as well. You will get the chance to learn from the people who know the industry inside out, but you will also be able to earn a living (although it’s unlikely you will be paid very much). If you have just finished school or college and are weighing up your career options, think about the possibility of an apprenticeship. It is usually a pathway taken by younger people who want to learn a trade and get onto a new career path.
